What a KoboRide dispatch rider does

A rider collects your item from one address and delivers it to another. You can send something from your home or office, or have a rider collect something for you from a shop, a friend, or a business.

Our riders use bicycles, so they move through traffic and side streets well and are best for nearby trips: across your area, or to the next area over.

Good for

  • Documents, letters, cheques, and signed contracts
  • Food packs and groceries from a nearby shop or kitchen
  • Phones, chargers, keys, and other small items you forgot
  • Small parcels for customers if you sell online
  • Clothes, gifts, and items you are returning to someone

Why people use KoboRide instead of calling a rider

  • The fare is shown before you book, based on the distance, so there is no haggling.
  • You see the rider on the map and how many minutes until they reach the pickup and the drop-off.
  • The person receiving gives the rider a delivery PIN, so the order is only marked delivered when it reaches the right hands.
  • Pay the rider in cash or pay online by card or transfer when you book.

Questions

How fast does a dispatch rider get to me?
Once a rider accepts your order, the map shows how many minutes until they reach your pickup. Riders take orders close to them, so short trips start quickly.
Can I book a rider to pick something up for me?
Yes. Set the pickup to where the item is and the drop-off to where you are. Add a note for the rider if they need to ask for someone by name.
How much does a delivery cost?
The fare is ₦400 plus ₦250 per km between pickup and drop-off, with a minimum of ₦800. The app shows the exact fare before you book.
How do I pay?
Pay the rider in cash at pickup or drop-off, or pay online by card or bank transfer when you book.
How far can a rider go?
Each trip can be up to 10 km, because riders use bicycles. If a drop-off is too far, the app tells you before you book.
