KoboRide

Privacy policy

Updated 27 September 2026

This policy covers the KoboRide customer app, rider app, and website. It describes the personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or delete it.

Who we are

KoboRide provides on-demand bike delivery in Lagos, Nigeria. Our address is Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Email hello@koboride.ng or call +234 903 186 1100.

Information we collect

  • Account details: your name and Nigerian phone number. We send a one-time code by SMS so you can sign in.
  • Delivery details: pickup and drop-off addresses, map coordinates, package notes, and the name and phone number of the sender and the receiver.
  • Precise location, only after you allow it. Customers use it to pin a street. Riders share it during an active job so the customer can see the bike and an arrival estimate. We do not use location for advertising, and we do not collect it when you are not using the app for a booking or a live job.
  • Payment status and the method you choose. Card and transfer payments are processed by Paystack. We do not store your full card or bank number.
  • A delivery PIN, which we may text to the receiver’s phone number.
  • Photos you choose to provide: a rider profile photo, government ID images used to verify a rider, and a delivery photo if a rider cannot collect the PIN.
  • A notification token if you allow alerts, so we can tell you when an order changes.
  • Basic technical data such as IP address and app requests, used to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

  • To create your account and confirm it is you.
  • To quote a fare, match a rider, and complete the delivery.
  • To show the route, live bike location, and arrival estimate.
  • To text a sign-in code or a delivery PIN.
  • To take, confirm, or refund a payment.
  • To verify riders and resolve disputes, including delivery proof.
  • To limit repeated cancellations and answer support requests.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use this information to perform the delivery you request, because you consent (location, notifications, and optional photos), or because we need it to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse. You can withdraw consent for location and notifications in your phone settings.

Who we share it with

  • The rider on your order sees the addresses, package notes, and the phone number needed to complete that job. The other person on the delivery may see the name and phone number you entered for them.
  • Google, to show the map and to search for addresses.
  • Paystack, to take or refund a card or transfer payment.
  • Termii, to send SMS codes and delivery PINs.
  • Our hosting and photo-storage providers, so the app and uploaded images can be stored and served.

Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. We share only what that task needs. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and order history so you can see past deliveries and we can resolve disputes, refunds, and safety issues. A rider’s live location is not shown on the map after the order ends. We delete or de-identify information when we no longer need it for these purposes, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your rights and account deletion

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop using it where the law allows. To delete your account, open Account in the app and tap Delete account. You can also email hello@koboride.ng from the phone number on the account with the subject “Delete my account”. We delete the account and the personal information tied to it, except records we must keep for legal, payment, or safety reasons.

You can turn off location and notifications in your phone settings. Booking still works, but we cannot pin your street or send alerts until you allow them.

If you are in Nigeria, you may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Children

KoboRide is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect account and order data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. The current version is always at https://www.koboride.ng/privacy.
